The birth of our church became a reality when the Spirit of the Lord placed it on the heart of our founder, Apostle Elbridge Lock to start a mission. It was at the first meeting that the Lord gave the church its name, Unity Gospel House of Prayer. The first service was held in the home of Elbridge Lock and his wife, Naomi Lock, on January 30, 1973.

On April 8, 2009, Apostle Elbridge Lock transitioned from his earthly home to rest from his labor.

Prophetess Naomi Lock transitioned from her earthly home to rest from her labor on June 23, 2012.

Marlon Lock has been the Senior Pastor of Unity Gospel House of Prayer since April, 2009.

We hope to see you at one of our worship services

Our Vision

The vision of Unity Gospel House of Prayer is to see the Word of God change the lives of everyone who connects with our ministry.

Our Mission

To minister the Word of God to everyone; those who believe and become baptized will be saved (Mark 16:15).

Our Motto

OGHBYRG; Obey God He’ll Bless You Real Good (AWG- BERG) is an acronym that stems from a church motto Pastor Marlon Lock’s grandparents created over 40 years ago, with the establishment of Unity Gospel House of Prayer.

Since it’s inception, the church services conclude by attendees proclaiming: “If you obey God, He’ll bless you real good.” In honor of his grandparents, Pastor Marlon Lock has started a music label with this name and it is an official registered trademark.
